The Afterschool Program is a FREE healthy lifestyle program for children in grades 1-8. The Program focuses on physical activity, healthy eating, and personal wellness. Children involved in the program will participate in a variety of activities while having fun. The program is delivered from September until June and does not operate during Christmas Holidays, March Break or P.D. Days.
A healthy snack is available at each program day to encourage participants to make healthy food choices and try new things. Children will also participate in the food preparation so that they can learn to recognize, independently prepare and enjoy simple healthy snacks.
Guest Speakers will occasionally visit the program to provide information on many different topics that are relevant to the children and youth. Examples of these topics include healthy eating habits, personal safety, and many more.
