Volunteer Week – April 21-27 Theme: Every Moment Matters
The theme for National Volunteer Week highlights the importance of every volunteer and each contribution they make at a moment when we need support more than ever. The sharing of time, skills, empathy, and creativity is vital to the inclusivity, strength, and well-being of our communities.
Volunteers are fundamental to meeting this challenging moment. By coming together, committing support, and increasing our collective efforts and impact, we contribute exponentially to the quality of life we all strive for.
During National Volunteer Week 2024, we come together to recognize and celebrate the importance of each and every volunteer’s impact from coast to coast to coast. Now more than ever, Every Moment Matters.

Volunteers in your community.
The North Lambton Community Health Centre has 105 active volunteers across all of our sites. Each year the Volunteers give more than 9000 hours of their time to improving the health and wellbeing of those living in their neighborhood through volunteering with exercise programs, coffee time socials, seniors dinners, transportation services and more!
This amazing, dedicated and giving group of drivers was recognized this past year by our local Municipality for the Outstanding Community Group Award. Our Volunteer Drivers provide rides to people living in Lambton Shores (Lambton County). Without realizing it they are:
- Removing barriers for community members needing to access medical services, food banks, grocery stores
- Advocating for community members that could benefit accessing the service
- Sharing information about Red Cross and the CHC out in the community
- Providing a safe and welcoming experience for clients accessing rides
- Providing wheelchair accessible rides
- Providing arm assist when needed
- Ensure the safety of the clients accessing the service
Without even realizing it, they are changing lives, improving people’s health outcomes, and helping people remain in their community and homes longer.
